Yal cordillerano (Ch.). Length 16 cm. Habitat: Above tree-line in summer, descending to grassy steppes in flocks in winter. Male: black throat bordered bright yellow. Grey above. Greyish-yellow below. Wings with yellow patch. Tail centrally dark, outer feathers yellow. Female: buff-cinnamon, heavily streaked. Voice: sings fweet wheew.
