Jote cabeza colorada (Ch.). Length 65 - 75 cm. Wingspan: 1.8 m. Habitat: over woodlands, open woods and mountainous terrain. Whitish beak, red iris, pink legs and feet. Bare head red with a small white spot on the nape. Overall dull blackish. Flight feathers on underside greyish giving a silvery look to this part of underwing when in flight. Long rectanglular tail. Hardly ever flaps. When perched the wings are not longer than the tail.
