The transfer
to our starting point leads us along the beautiful village Ensenada
(about 50 km from Puerto Varas) sitting on the foothill of Osorno
Volcano. This trekking is on the slopes of Osorno volcano and
is offered in three different levels. Its most strenuous version
goes up to the snow limit this is in winter time about 1200
m above sea level and in summer time 2000 m above sea level.
On this trek you can see typical native forests of the south
of Chile, native forests growing as natural bonsais on volcanic
choss and boulder, some of the volcano's many lateral craters
and a great view over Llanquihue Lake and Petrohué River
with the volcanoes Tronador, Puntiagudo and Calbuco in the background.
The pace of the tour depends on your wishes and physical possibilities.
