A:
In Ralún at about 90 km from Puerto Varas we
enter the Cayetúe Valley where we start our trek at about
500 m above sea level with a wonderful lookout over Reloncaví
Estuary. Then we pass through native forests of Coigües,
Mañios, Ulmos, Tepas, giant farns and climbing plants
and the wonderful fuchsias give a colour contrast to the dark
green of the forest. After an easy walk of about two hours we
get to the meadows around Cayutúe Lake where we have
a break to swim in its clear waters, eat something or just enjoy
the beautiful outlook on thickly forested hills and volcano
Puntiagudo behind the deep blue lake.
B: This two days trip leads us over the same track
to Cayutúe Lake, where we have a short break to strengthen
us before surrounding the lake over steep paths deeply carved
into the hill. On our way we pass by several outlook points
over the lake and its surroundings and finally we walk down
to Conchas River to penetrate about into Esperanza valley. At
the Pantanal hot springs we install our camp and enjoy a steamy
meal at the fire. On the second day we relax in the morning
at the hot springs to discover beautiful forests, meadows and
the riverside to start our way back after a good meal.
