A:
Our way to Alerce Andino National Park guides us about 40 km
along the renowned Carretera Austral Highway crossing coastal
villages of the bay of Reloncaví such as Lenca. From
there a gravel road brings us to the national park where our
hike to Chaiquenes Lake starts. We hike through majestic cold
rainforest in the heights of which predominate Alerce trees
(Fitzroya Cupressoides). We can see even a millenarian example
of this species.
B: The two days hike brings us also to the
beautiful Chaiquenes Lake to continue our way to Triangulo Lake
through forests of Coigües, Ulmos, Canelos, Arrayans, Mañíos,
Tineos, Tepas and Quila. At the lake in a wonderful landscape
be built up our camp. The next day there is time enough to explore
the surroundings, learn about flora and fauna, take a bath,
have fun and – too early – to start our way back.
