We had an earthquake on * Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 06:34:14 UTC * Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 03:34:14 AM at epicenter Location 35.846°S, 72.719°W Depth 35 km (21.7 miles) set by location program Region OFFSHORE MAULE, CHILE of 8.8 magnitude. This is about 700 km north of our location. Most damaged regions are region 7,8, and 9 as well as Chile's capital city, Santiago. Locally, there have not been registered significant damages, but the strong movements were quite scaring. For travelers it is important to know that Santiago Airport is closed for today, February 27, 2010 as its infrastructure is quiet damaged. Furthermore, there is still no bus connection to or from Santiago to the south, as there are some bridges missing on the highway and in some parts the highway's underground is damaged. There is still no complete information about the most affected regions. We are sad about all the victims and are hoping that there will be no more. Good luck for everybody!!
